Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) students, teachers, employees and officials took part in a Dengue prevention, awareness and clean-up campaign led by Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Md Abul Kashem. The campaign was carried out after 15 students in the residence halls of the university along with a few employees, officials and their families have been infected with dengue so far.
The clean-up campaign was started from the university’s Shaheed Minar courtyard and went through the different locations on campus. In a brief speech before the clean-up campaign Professor Md Abul Kashem said that raising awareness and cleanliness are key for dengue prevention. He called on everyone present to keep their homes and surroundings clean. The university authority uses insecticide on a daily basis in the residence halls as well as the surrounding residential areas.
