Dengue epidemic on the rise in Pabna

The number of dengue patients is suddenly increasing in Pabna's Ishwardi. So far, 5 patients with dengue have been admitted to Upazila Health Complex. They are workers of Rooppur nuclear power project. This information was revealed on Saturday morning after searching at Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex.

Going to the health complex, it is seen that the admitted patients are lying on the bed without mosquito nets during the day in violation of the instructions. Apart from this, there is no need to be aware of the patient or the accompanying relatives. It is feared that the number of patients may increase.

According to health complex sources, a total of 5 dengue patients are admitted in the hospital. All five are men and they are construction workers of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.

Tushar, who is suffering from dengue, said, "I work in Rooppur nuclear power plant. I live in a rented house in Rezanagar village of the upazila. A few days ago suddenly severe headache, body ache and high fever occurred. After examination by the company doctor, I was confirmed to be infected with dengue. Later I was admitted to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex and am undergoing treatment. He said, now he is much healthier than before.

Doctor of health complex Fawzia Yasim said that on September 6, a patient was admitted with dengue. Later the number of patients increased to 5. All the five victims work as construction workers at Rooppur Nuclear Power Project.

Ishwardi upazila health and family planning officer Dr FA Asma Khan said that so far five dengue patients have been admitted to the hospital. They are being treated and are doing well. She said, now the dengue season is going on. Everyone should use mosquito nets. He also suggested that one should not live in an unhealthy and dirty environment.
