Illegal establishments over 2.5 acre land of Roads and Highway has been demolished after an eviction drive at Jibannagar municipality area under Chuadanga district. The event took place on Wednesday afternoon.
Jibannagar municipality officials said that more than 200 illegal establishment adjacent to the Chuadanga Highway was demolished as these grabbed the land of Roads and Highway department illegally. Before the eviction, miking was done informing all the tenant to move out from the illegally occupied lands.
Executive magistrate Anindita Roy led the eviction drive with the assistance of Roads and Highway department under Khulna zone. 22 police personnel of Jibannagar Police Station and fire brigade personnel took part at the drive. Chuadanga Roads and Highway Executive Engineer Md Nazrul Islam stated that a list of illegally built establishments were built recently. On Wednesday, eviction drives were conducted to remove these buildings.
