Shafin Ahmed, a famous Bangladeshi musician from the band Miles, has died. He had a heart attack at a hospital in Virginia, USA. His brother, Hamin Ahmed, also a musician, confirmed the news.
Shafin Ahmed gave us many hit songs like "Harano Sukh," "Aj Jonmodin Tomar," "Phiriye Dao," and "Neela." He passed away far from home in the United States. Ashfaqul Bari Rumon, lead singer of the band Parthibo, also confirmed the news. Rumon said, "Shafin had a heart attack. He had a concert in Virginia on July 20, but he fell ill and had to cancel it. He was taken to the hospital and put on life support, but we couldn't save him."
Shafin Ahmed was born on February 14, 1961. His mother, Firoza Begum, was a famous singer, and his father, Kamal Dasgupta, was a well-known musician. Shafin grew up with music all around him. He learned classical music from his father and Nazrul songs from his mother.
Shafin and his brother Hamin went to the UK to study and discovered Western music. This led to the creation of their band, Miles. Shafin sang most of their songs and played bass guitar. Miles became one of Bangladesh's top bands.
Recently, Shafin left Miles
due to disagreements with
his brother and started his own band. Some of Shafin's most loved songs are "Chand Tara Surjo," "Jala Jala," "Phiriye Dao," and "Firey Ele Na."
