A Noakhali court on Sunday placed the prime accused Delwar Hossain on a seven-day remand in a case filed over the torture of the housewife at Ekhlashpur under Begumganj upazila of Noakhali. PP of Noakhali Gulzar Ahmed Juyel confirmed the matter.
Police produced Delwar before the court with 17-day remand prayers in three cases.
Dolowar is the prime accused in the rape case filed by the victim. Police have also arrested him in two other cases under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and Pornography Control Act.
The victim was allegedly molested by some local miscreants at Ward No. 9 of Eklashpur Union last month, but the incident came to light after a video of the incident went viral on October 4. The miscreants tortured the housewife after undressing her and filmed it.
After filling case, prime accused Delowar fled. On October 5, RAB arrested him with firearms from Siddhirganj in Narayanganj. The next day, a hand grenade was recovered from a pond of Delwar. Later, RAB filed two cases against him under the Arms and Explosives Act with Begumganj Model Police Station.
Delwar was produced before the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court on October 13 and police sought his arrest in two more cases filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and Pornography Control Act. Following the hearing, the judge ordered to arrest him and sent to jail.
