Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film Deadpool & Wolverine has become the first film series to earn more than $30 billion worldwide. This was announced by Marvel's Chief, Kevin Feige, at San Diego Comic-Con.

The new movie "Deadpool & Wolverine" helped the MCU reach this milestone. It made $96 million on its first day in North America.

This is the highest opening day ever for an R-rated movie. It is expected to make between $195 million and $205 million in North America and around $380 million to $400 million

worldwide by the end of Sunday.

The MCU has released 34 movies over 15 years. It started in 2008 with "Iron Man". Since then, Marvel has made many blockbuster movies, including "Avengers: Endgame" and "Avengers: Infinity War", which are two of the highest-grossing movies ever. Even recent movies that did not perform well like "Eternals", "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania", and "The Marvels" still made hundreds of millions. However, these movies cost more than $200 million to make and did not make a profit for Disney in theaters.

Other film series also make a lot of money. Sony's "Spider-Man" movies have earned $10.6 billion. "Star Wars" movies have made $10.3 billion. "Harry Potter" movies have earned $9.6 billion. "James Bond" movies have made $7.8 billion. These series need to work hard to catch up with Marvel's success.

"Deadpool & Wolverine" is directed by Shawn Levy. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. They team up to save Deadpool's home universe. The cast also includes Emma Corrin, Matthew MacFadyen, Rob Delaney, and Leslie Uggams.
