Dhaka University (DU) has extended the deadline for depositing admission fees for affiliated colleges for the 2023–24 academic year, granting students additional time to complete their payments.
The new deadline is set for August 31, up from the original date of August 23. This extension applies to all affiliated and constituent colleges of the university.
The decision to extend the deadline was announced on Thursday in a notification signed by Professor Dr Mostafizur Rahman, convener of DU’s online admission committee. The extension aims to support students facing extraordinary circumstances, including those affected by recent floods and those injured during the anti-discrimination student movement.
The notification highlighted two main reasons for the extension. First, it addresses the needs of students who have been injured and are currently receiving treatment in hospitals. Second, it acknowledges the financial difficulties faced by students from flood-affected areas, where ongoing challenges have hindered timely fee payments.
The Central Admission Office will be closed on Friday and Saturday for the weekend but will resume operations on Sunday. The office will continue to assist students and handle inquiries related to the extended deadline.
The dates for the next phase of subject allotments will be published online, contingent on improvements in the flood situation. This step is part of DU’s commitment to ensuring that all students have a fair opportunity to secure their places in the upcoming academic year despite the current adversities
