The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordinating Committee has extended the deadline for Class XI admission for the 2024-25 academic year. The new application period started on August 15, and will continue until 10 PM on August 18. The results for this phase will be announced on August 21, and students must confirm their selection between August 22-24. Final admission to colleges will be completed on August 25. This information was shared in an emergency notice signed by Tapan Kumar Sarkar, the committee’s president.
Students need to apply to at least five and up to ten colleges, based on seat availability. Applications must be submitted online through the designated websites of the education boards. No manual applications will be accepted, and this has been communicated to students, parents, and educational institutions.
The fourth phase of the admission process began on August 11, with students originally able to apply online until August 14. However, the deadline has now been extended by four days.
According to the Ministry of Education’s admission policy, 93% of seats will be filled based on merit. The remaining 7% will be reserved: 5% for the children of heroic freedom fighters, 1% for children of Ministry of Education employees, and 1% for children of employees in related agencies. If these reserved seats are not filled, they will be added to the merit-based quota.
Students who have passed the SSC or equivalent exams in the past three years, including those from Bangladesh Open University, are eligible to apply. Students from other years or foreign boards can apply manually. Admission fees are capped at 8,500 taka for English version non-MPO colleges in Dhaka, and 7,500 taka for Bengali version non-MPO colleges in Dhaka. Fees for non-MPO colleges outside Dhaka are capped at 6,000 taka for English version and 5,000 taka for Bengali version.
