The upcoming animated film DC League of Super-Pets has been delayed two months. Dwayne Johnson is set to star in the film as the voice of Krypto the Superdog, best friend and loyal companion to Superman, who is voiced by John Krasinski. The film also stars Johnson’s good friend Kevin Hart as Ace the Bat Hound, sidekick to Keanu Reeves' Batman. Additionally, the likes of Kate McKinnon, Ben Schwartz, and Diego Luna round out the voices of the titular league of pets.

Johnson took to Instagram to announce that Seven Bucks Productions and DC Comics have decided to rearrange the dates for some of their upcoming films. DC League of Super-Pets has been moved from its original release date of May 20, 2022 to over two months later on July 29, 2022. The later date was originally slated for Black Adam, another upcoming DC Comics film starring Johnson, but that has since been pushed back to October 21, 2022.

While this news may be disappointing to some, a movie being delayed is typically a good sign for the final product. With the recent success of Matt Reeves' The Batman, there will likely be more eyes on DC Comics productions giving them the opportunity to have another wildly successful film, this time with younger audiences. With this in mind, they are likely taking whatever steps they must to create another great film. Families can still enjoy a day at the movies this summer when DC League of Super-Pets releases July 29, 2022. -Collider
