DC donates computer to Netrakona Press Club

Kazi Abdur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Netrakona, donated a high tech computer to Netrakona Press Club. In this connection, a meeting was held in the press club on Thursday evening.

The Deputy Commissioner, who is also ex-officio president of Netrakona Press Club, attended the function as the chief guest while Additional Deputy Magistrate (ADM) Md Abdullah Al Mahmud, Freedom Fighter Haider Jahan Chowdhury and Press Club Secretary Babu Shyamalendu Paul attended it as the special guests.

Advocate Abdul Hannan Ranjan, Vice President of Netrakona Press Club, presided over the meeting while Freedom Fighter Advocate Habibur Rahman, Jononetra Editor and former secretary M Muklesur Rahman, former secretary M Mahabub ul Kibria Chowdhury Halim, AKM Abdullah,  Shimul Milki, M Faqrul Haq, Sujadul Islam Faras, Shamim Ahmed, Bhajan Das, Nazrul Islam, Altabur Rahman Kashem and Kabir Ahmed spoke on the occasion, among others.

The Deputy Commissioner in his speech as the chief guest said, “Journalists are the mirror of the nation. They stand always against corruption, drugs, gambling, terrorism and extortion in order to build crime free society. Journalists from grass-roots level always write against injustice, irregularities and mismanagements of different sectors to curb corruption and crimes of society.

Journalists have been working heart and soul with heavy risk from rural areas and always co-operate with different government sectors mainly administration and police departments by their reporting to control the overall law and order in the society.

Bangladesh is progressing in all sectors mainly communication and education sector day by day under the dynamic leadership of our beloved Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who works relentlessly to change the lifestyle of the people in general.”

He urged local electronic and print media journalists to report the development work of the government along with other news.
