Detective Branch (DB) has added QR (quick response) code to their jacket. With a separate code attached to the jacket of all DB members.
Detective Branch (DB) Chief Additional Police Commissioner Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid talked to reporters on this issue at DMP Media Center on Monday.
He said, “From today all our DB members have been fitted with new jackets with the individual QR codes.”
The information in the jacket of the officials will be stored in DB’s own server. DB members’ identities will come out by scanning the QR code with the mobile app.
Harun-or-Rashid also said that the jacket worn by the DB police of DMP is quite old. Many allegations were received describing that the culprits used fake jackets of DB members to con people’s money and other valuables, he added.
The DB chief further said, “I strongly believe that the jackets we are going to use with various visible and hidden features including QR code will increase the activities among our members. With this feature, none will be cheated anymore in the name of DB police in future. DMP and DB are committed to ensure safety for the people.”
“It is now impossible to make a fake or duplicate copy of the dress of DB police as the new dress has got a QR code,” he added.
Anyone will be able to check the identity of DB police after just scanning the QR code if any suspicion arises.
Colorful logos of Detective Branch (DB) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police will be visible in the new jacket.
