Bogura Sadar Upazila administration organised daylong programme to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Saturday.
Various activities including colorful processions, discussion meetings, and cultural events were held at Matidali Upazila Parishad premises on this occasion. Earlier, a colorful procession was brought out from Matidali Biman More area marking Bangabandhu’s Homecomming Day and Birth Centenary. Bogura Deputy Commissioner Fayej Ahmed was the chief guest at the meeting. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Azizur Rahman presided over the discussion while, Superintendent of Police Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan, District Awami League unit’s General Secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, Sadar Upazila Chairman Abu Sufian Shafiq spoke as special guest.
After the discussion, a cultural function was held and prizes were distributed among winners of various competitions held earlier. A countdown clock machine was also set up in the Upazila Parishad premises for ‘Mujib Shato Barsho’.
