A daylong workshop on preventing child marriage and suicide was held in Jhenaidah on Wednesday. Nationally reputed non-government organisation ‘Srizony Foundation’ and Pally Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) jointly organised the programme at Armukhi KIshore Club in Jhenidah Sadar.
Presided over by Naldanga UP Chairman Kabir Hossain, Jhenaidah Sadar police station officer in charge Mijanur Rahman attended the workshop as the Chief Guest.
Srizony Foundation senior administrative officer Advocate Mojammel Haque, senior programme officer of adolescent prgramme Shantanur Rahman, Radio Jhenuk station manager Parvin Nahar and local Awami Legaue leader Alauddin Musalli attended the event as special guests.
Speakers urged everyone to come forward to remove these two social curses, child marriage and suicide from the society. They said a huge number of innocent people fall victims to hostile attitude and commit suicide. They urged to create a movement for a peaceful society at the time.
