Daughter Sadia committed suicide by hanging herself in her bedroom after writing a note to her father at Khajura village near Kuakata in the district.
Mahipur police recovered her body on Wednesday evening. She is the daughter of Suleman from Khajura village, and a 10th grade student of Mahipur Cooperative Secondary School.
The relatives of the deceased said that Sadia went to her room after having lunch on Wednesday. After a while, stepmother Sefa Begum, who was in the house, called out to Sadia and found her hanging with a noose around her neck. At that time, the neighbours entered the house and took down her body, but she died earlier. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot.
Mohipur Police Station officer-in-charge Anwar Hossain Talukder said that a note was found under the pillow of the deceased Sadia. Sadia wrote the note to her father:
“Please forgive me, father. I have caused you a lot of trouble. Dad I am alone all the time. I can't take it anymore. I could never be your worthy child; no one is responsible for my death. I just don't like this life. I have been a burden to you for so long. Look at my sister. Don't ever let her down. And don't cry for me; I was only your daughter for 10 years. Allah Hafez,” said Sadia in the suicide note.
The police officer said her body has been recovered and the next step will be taken after talking to the family members.
