Date molasses fair in Jashore has drawn a huge crowd. People of All classes visited the fair with pleasure on the second day of date molasses fair in Chowagacha Upazila of Jashore that began on Tuesday
However, the second day fair was made more alive by the presence of prominent media personality Channel I Director Shaikh Siraj.
On this day, the presence of date trees cutter was also noticeable.
Sales have also been satisfactory due to the large visitors’ attendance here.
Tuesday was the second day of Date molasses Mela in Chowagacha, a bordering upazila of Jashore.
On this day, from very early in the morning, the date tree cutters started appearing with all the jaggery, patali and date palm juice.
Date tree cutters set up stalls with jaggery and patali and the juice started burning the juice in the upazila square to make jaggery.
As the day progressed, the crowd of visitors increased.
From a little before noon, the presence of people increased so much that the law enforcers had to struggle to deal with it.
Just as school and college students freedom fighters, elderly and the homeless people are seen at this year's Gur Mela. Many have brought plastic containers from home.
They are returning home after buying their favorite jaggery.
Three days jaggery fair held at the upazila square, today is the second day.
At that time, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sushmita Saha welcomed the visitors, especially Channel I Director Shaikh Siraj.
A brief exchange of views was held at the UNO’s office around 12:30 noon.
Shaikh Siraj wanted to know from the UNO about this exceptional fair.
At that time executive officer Sushmita Saha said, “We all know that Jashore is famous for its date jaggery. From this idea, the former executive officer organized this fair”.
“In the first year, the jaggery fair received a fair response. After joining Chougacha, I prepared to hold this fair for the second time,” she added.
The three-day long fair received a huge response on the first day.
Jaggery maker are bringing jaggery, sales are as expected.
At this time, the executive officer presented the crest to Shaikh Siraj on behalf of the upazila administration.
At this time, chairman of the upazila parishad M Mostanichur Rahman, UNO Sushmita Saha, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Gunjan Biswas, Mayor Noor Uddin Al Mamun Himel, Upazila Project Implementation Officers, Agriculture Officers, Education Officers and various departments of Upazila Administration were present the Mela.
