The buzz around the film industry intensifies as the much-anticipated dark thriller "Altabanu Jochhona Dekheni" brings together a stellar cast of Swastika Mukherjee, Sariful Islam Razz, and Ashna Habib Bhabna. This high-profile collaboration promises to deliver a gripping cinematic experience.
The film, directed by Himu Akram, marks a significant milestone for the Dhaka-based cinema scene. Swastika Mukherjee, acclaimed for her powerful performances in Tollywood, was announced for the project last year. The addition of Bhabna, who signed her contract on Wednesday, adds further star power to the film. Bhabna expressed her enthusiasm on social media, sharing a photo of her contract signing and writing, "I can't wait to work with my favourite actress, Swastika Mukherjee."
Director Himu Akram has described "Altabanu Jochhona Dekheni" as a dark thriller interweaving narratives from three distinct regions into a cohesive story. Bhabna is set to play Julekha, a young woman from the Haor region, bringing depth to the film's complex narrative.
Swastika Mukherjee will take on the challenging role of Altabanu, a middle-class girl from Old Dhaka with a troubled psyche, often restrained by iron chains. Akram noted, "Altabanu is a character who communicates through her eyes, and Swastika's intense gaze aligns perfectly with this role. Her involvement was settled a year ago, and she was always our ideal choice."
Sariful Islam Razz will face a unique challenge, portraying three distinct characters—Premchand, Sujan Mia, and Muinul Hossain. According to Akram, "These characters represent different facets of a single person, yet they are entirely distinct from one another. It’s a complex role that Razz is well-equipped to tackle."
The film's supporting cast includes notable names such as Mamunur Rashid, Partha Barua, Elora Gohor, Erfan Mridha Shiblu, and Mukit Zakaria, promising a well-rounded ensemble performance.
With its intriguing plot and an ensemble cast of esteemed actors, "Altabanu Jochhona Dekheni" is poised to captivate audiences and generate significant buzz in the film industry.
