Bangladesh registered 24 more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Friday. The total number of deaths has reached to 28,931 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 2,584 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,929,154, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
The current positivity rate fell to 9.31 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.66 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.50 percent in the country, added the release.
Of the day’s deaths, 14 were reported in Dhaka, three each in Chattogram and Sylhet, two in Rajshahi, and one each was reported in Khulna and Rangpur divisions.
A total of 27,765 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday.
Some 9,988 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,929,154 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 90.08 percent.
As of Friday, 5,883,969 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 420,804,374 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
