Bangladesh registered one more death in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Wednesday. The total number of deaths has reached to 29,097 with the latest figure.
A total of 323 people were newly infected during the time and the total number of people infected rose to 1,948,471, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
The current positivity dropped to 1.97 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.43 percent.
Earlier on Tuesday, seven people died from the virus and 446 people contracted the virus.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.
The sole deceased was a male from Sylhet.
A total of 16,370 samples were tested across the country till 8am Wednesday.
Some 2,824 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,852,770 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 95.09 percent.
As of Wednesday, 6,038,414 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 450,273,828 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
