Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh Air Force distributed prizes among the winners of ‘Daffodil Captain Cup Golf Tournament 2019’ of Daffodil International University (DIU) as chief Guest at Kurmitola Golf Club on Friday.
Along with Army Chief of Staff General Aziz Ahmed, a total 150 Golfers, both male and female took part in the tournament in different categories. The winner of the tournament was Major Golam Moudud (retd) and Runner-Up was Air Vice Marshal A H M Fazlul Haque. The lady winner of the tournament was Fatema Matiur and junior winner was Sajidul Islam.
The award giving ceremony was also addressed by Dr Md Sabur Khan, chairman, Daffodil Family, Major General Md Enayet Ullah, vice president, Kurmitola Golf Club, Brigadier General Md Tajul Islam Thakur, Club captain, Kurmitola Golf Club, Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (retd), chairman, Tournament Committee, Kurmitola Golf Club, Brigadier General GSM Hamidur Rahman (retd), chief executive officer, Kurmitola Golf Club, Professor Dr Yousuf Mahabubul Islam, VC, Mohamed Emran Hossain, director (admin) of DIU, Lieutenant Colonel Md Abdul Bari (Retd), general manager, Golf Operations, Kurmitola Golf Club, Major Arman Ali Bhuyan (retd), project director (development) of DIU and other high officials of the Daffodil Family and Kurmitola Golf Club were also present in the prize distribution ceremony.
DIU Cultural Club performed a gala cultural event highlighting Bangladesh’s creed and culture. Lastly country’s renowned artist Syyed Haider Husyn rendered solo music. The programme was ended followed by raffle draw.
Earlier, Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh Air Force inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest early in the morning where Dr Md Sabur Khan, chairman, Daffodil Family, Professor Dr S M Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder, pro VC, Hamidul Haque Khan, director (Finance and Accounts) and other high officials were present.
