A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) and Imperial Hospital Limited, Chittagong.
The agreement was signed for a period of five years with the aim of exchanging facilities and development between the two institutions. Under the agreement, Imperial Hospital Limited will provide theoretical and practical training to 4th year CVASU students of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology.
CVASU Food Processing and Engineering Department Associate Professor Shirin Akhter, Imperial Hospital Limited Nutrition and Diet Management Department Chief Dietitian and Nutritionist Mahfuza Afroz Sathi signed the MoU on behalf of their organization at a function on Saturday.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, Imperial Hospital Limited will provide theoretical and practical training to 4th year students of CVASU Food Science and Technology Faculty (in-patient diet management, such as Diabetic Diet, Cardiac Diet, Enteral Diet, etc. Each batch will have 5 students and the duration of training will be 4-5 weeks.

At the end of the course, each student will be assessed jointly by CVASU and Imperial Hospital Limited authorities and the eligible students will be awarded certificates by Imperial Hospital Limited. Other activities to be undertaken between the two institutions under the agreement include conducting joint research activities and exchanging research materials, publications and information.
Also present on the occasion were CVASU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Gautam Buddha Das, Imperial Hospital Limited Chairman Professor Dr Rabiul Hossain.
