Academic activities at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) begins on Sunday. This comes after the university reopened its residential halls last Saturday, welcoming students back to campus.
The Ministry of Education issued instructions to start the program, and a circular from the CVASU Public Relations Office confirmed the news on Sunday.
In a significant move, all forms of political activities have been banned on campus. This decision follows recent demands from ordinary students who called for a ban on student politics in educational institutions across the country. These demands were part of the anti-discrimination student movement, which has gained attention in recent times.
The university’s registrar, Mirza Farooq Imam, signed an office order on Thursday, August 8, implementing the ban. The order states that the involvement of teachers, students, and staff in any political organizations or activities is completely prohibited on campus. This ban is intended to ensure a fair and peaceful environment for all at the university.
The ban on politics at CVASU will remain in effect until further notice. The university administration has made it clear that they are committed to maintaining a neutral and focused educational environment, free from political influences.
The reopening of the university and the start of the educational program mark a significant step forward for the students and faculty at CVASU. With the new ban on politics, the university aims to provide a safe and supportive atmosphere for learning and personal growth.
Students and staff are encouraged to focus on their academic responsibilities and take full advantage of the resources and opportunities available to them at CVASU.
