Customs dept keen to settle export-import issues of RMG industry quickly

Chattogram Customs Commissioner Faizur Rahman on said the Customs department is very much cordial in speedy completion of export and import related activities of the apparel industry specially which is needed amid the ongoing crisis period acros the world.

The Commissionar made the remarks while exchanging views with the BGMEA leaders at 

his office.

BGMEA First Vice President Syed Nazrul Islam said export oriented RMG industry is considered as the backbone of the country's economy, the sector is thriving hard to survive the industry fcaing competition among the neighbouring countries despite adverse global situation. 

The government is able to sustain a position in support withall the stakeholders, our market is completely based on international buyers, so  desires of buyers is important and buyeras always take their options in placing orders which depends upon trust, acceptability and competence. 

BGMEA Vice President Rakbul Alam Chowdhury said the sector has suffered image crisis much more than that of economical losses. Many buyers have cancelled their orders from Bangladesh. Cutsoms have their way to extend their support in terms of short shiftment, HS Code complications in import , weight and cartoon related problems etc.

BGMEA Directors M Ehsanul Hque, Amzad Hossain Chowdhury, Rakib Al-Naser, Gazi Md. Shahidullah, senior officials of customs house were also present on the occasio among others.
