Chittagong University’s Research and Higher Study Society (CURHS) has felicitated 75 teachers and students with international scholarships in 2023.
The felicitation was organized in the digital classroom of the engineering faculty of the Chittagong University (CU) on Monday morning.
CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar was the chief guest on the occasion. CU Pro VC Prof. Benu Kumar Dey, Director of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell Prof. Dr. Abdullah Mamun, Director of ICT Cell Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khairul Islam and CURHS Advisor Dr. Alak Paul were the special guests. Deputy Moderator Dr. Kazi Tanveer Ahmed, Dr. Mohammad Shahnewaz Chowdhury, Faculty Moderator of CURHS Dr. Aftab Uddin, Dr. Suman Ganguly, teachers and students were present.
The program was presided over by CURHS Moderator Dr. Adnan Mannan and conducted by Nusrat Afrin. CURHS Founder Takbir Hossain, President Mahmud Sharif addressed the event.
Speakers on the occasion said that just as a teacher would spend time in university administration, he should also spend time in such research-related programs. Through this program we want to present to everyone that good work is also being done in our university. We did not know that our university students were going to such good places in foreign countries. 42 people are going to the United States alone. Everyone needs to know about these works. We want to find these researcher teachers-students and make them stand as role models.
CU Vice-Chancellor said, 'May the progress of success that has started in the country and outside the country continue to flow. Your success outside the country including Chittagong University makes us proud.
She said such inspirational events encourage everyone. We want to see more success in the coming days.
It’s known that in 2023, more than 75 teachers-students from Chittagong University (CU) have been nominated for Masters and PhD programs for higher education and research abroad. They will go abroad with about 20 prestigious scholarships like Fulbright, Commonwealth, Monobusho, Australia Award. CURHS organizes a congratulation program every year to maintain and recognize the success of the students
