Bangladesh has lifted restrictions that was issued barring the foreign nationals from entering the country due to high infection rate of Coronavirus, the authorities concerned said.
From now on, there is no ban on going to any country of the world or coming to Bangladesh from those countries.
In a circular, Group Captain Chowdhury M Zia-ul-Kabir, a member of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), Flight Standards and Regulation Division, said this.
CAAB had imposed restrictions on passengers from 13 countries due to intensified infections of Covid-19. The countries are Armenia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Moldova, Palestine, Mongolia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
The circular said that those who come to Bangladesh from these countries with a full dose of any one coronavirus vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) will have to stay in the home quarantine for seven days. In addition, those who come without vaccination will have to stay in the institutional quarantine for seven days.
In addition, passengers from countries other than these 13 countries need not have to stay in a quarantine if they come to the country with a full dose of vaccine.
Earlier, they had to stay in the home quarantine for 14 days.
If passengers from countries other than these 13 countries come to Bangladesh without a full dose of the vaccine, they will have to stay in institutional quarantine for 14 days with their own costs.
The order has been effective from October 24.
Earlier in August this year, CAAB had banned citizens of 11 countries from entering Bangladesh without vaccination. The countries are - Argentina, Botswana, Cuba, Cyprus, Eswatini, Georgia, Iran, Libya, Malaysia, Mongolia and Spain.
However, even if passengers do not get vaccinated from now on, there is an opportunity to enter Bangladesh. In that case passengers have to stay in quarantine.
