The Annual General Meeting of Chittagong University Debating Society (CUDS) was held at Chittagong Regional Public Administration Training Center on Sunday.
Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shireen Akhtar was present as the chief guest and CU Pro VC (Academic) Prof. Benu Kumar Dey was present as the special guest. Under the chairmanship of CUDS moderator Professor ABM Abu Noman, Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Bright Bangladesh Executive Director Utpal Barua spoke as the main speakers.
CU VC said, CUDS is an old organization of the university. The activities that the leaders of this organization have been conducting with the talented youth of the university are highly commendable.
She said, debate is an aesthetic art, as the latent talents of students are developed through debate, a rational society is established among them through mutual cooperation, sympathy, sincerity and brotherhood. She called to continue the activities of this organization regularly.
The 24th Executive Committee of CUDS was announced at the General Meeting. Kaies Mohammad Saifullah (Adar) was elected as President and Nasir Uddin Khan Niloy as General Secretary. Other leaders of the committee are Vice President Syed Shahriar Rahman, Sanjida Sharmin and Md. Ridwan Zakir Antu, Joint Secretary- Marzook-e-Elahi, Organizing Secretary Arafat Hossain, Finance Secretary Shreya Chakma, Events and Logistics Secretary Nuzhat Tabassum, Research and Development Secretary Deepta Dipayan. Arnab Mitra, Media and Online Affairs Secretary Mehdi Hassan Imon, Press and Publication Secretary Rana Kanti Das, Office Secretary Raihan Ahmed Chowdhury, Debate Secretaries Sadeku Mujtaba Mahi and Raziur Rahman Arif and Women Affairs Secretary Aheli Azman.
