Along with the new 28 tax zones, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) will set up three more tax zones in Chattogram in two phases to increase the tax coverage.
New officers will be appointed in the tax area. In the first phase, only the capital's new tax zones will be set up, its said NBR. Its known that, in the second phase, limited companies and company officers-employees starting with B, T, I and V of the English alphabet located in Chattogram district and Chattogram tax zone-5 with Ward 11, 15, 22, 24, 28 and 32 of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC); Chattogram Tax Zone-6 will be established with limited companies and company officers-employees and wards 1, 2, 3, 16, 34 and 36 of Chattogram City Corporation starting with K, N, P and Z of the English alphabet located in Chattogram district. Besides, in the same step, tax zone- Cox's Bazar will be formed with taxpayers of Cox's Bazar district.
In the third phase, Chattogram Tax Appeal Region-2 will be implemented. In the first phase only tax zones of Dhaka will be established. In the second and third phase, the activities of the remaining tax zones will be implemented.
