The commissioner made the assurance while exchanging views with a delegation led by BGMEA First Vice-President Syed Nazrul Islam on Tuesday to resolve the existing complexities in the import-export activities of the readymade garment industry.

At present export orders are increasing steadily, which is very positive for our national economy. Custom House Chittagong has a huge role to play in the timely implementation of all these export orders.
He said that the existing problems in the import and export of garment industry are to solve the complexities of shipment of goods, update of information on short shipment in Asaikuda World, unintentional correction of unintentional errors in export shipping bill, removal of complexities related to HS code in import tariffs, clearance of goods.

He requested the Commissioner to take immediate and effective steps to avoid complications in the shipment inspection, to add counterfeit to the list of designated C&F agents of the garment industry, to the Asaicuda World system, etc.
