A Memorandum of Understanding (M9U) between The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the Canada-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CBCCI) was held at the World Trade Center on Thursday.
CBCCI Executive Vice President Arif Rahman and Canada-Trade and Investment Expo 2023 Ambassador Ferdous Ahmed spoke under the chairmanship of Chamber President Mahbubul Alam.
Chamber directors Md. AhidSiraj Chowdhury (Swapan), Zahirul Islam Chowdhury (Alamgir), Anjan Shekhar Das, Benazir Chowdhury Nishan, Md. Omar Farooq, Md. Iftekhar Faisal, SM Tahsin Jonaid, Mohammad Adnanul Islam, Tanvir Mostafa Chowdhury, Mohammad Nasirul Alam ( Fahim) and CBCCI officials were present.
Chamber President Mahbubul Alam said, Canada-Bangladesh has historically maintained a cordial relationship since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1972. Since then, Canada has been an important development partner of Bangladesh.
He also said that the Chittagong Chamber is working on business smartness and investment attraction in the Prime Minister's vision of building a Smart Bangladesh by 2041. In this regard, Canadian and Bangladeshi businessmen were invited to invest using the geographical advantage of Chittagong. CBCCI Executive Vice-President Arif Rahman said that the Expo to be held in Canada next November will help Bangladeshi businessmen to increase business communication directly with Canadian entrepreneurs and related parties through product branding. So Chittagong Chamber and Chittagong businessmen are invited to participate in this fair.
Canada-Bangladesh Expo Ambassador Ferdous Ahmed said that Bangladeshi fairs are held abroad throughout the year. But this fair is different from others. This fair can enrich the export sector of Bangladesh.
