The 23rd meeting of the Building Construction Committee was held under the chairmanship of Lt. Col. (Retd) Forkan Ahmed, Chairman of the Building Construction Committee and Chairman of the Cox's Bazar Development Authority.
At that meeting, 56 building construction designs were presented for approval. After detailed analysis, the design of 40 buildings was unanimously approved by the members present. Of these, 12 designs were approved subject to conditions. The decision was taken to present the remaining 16 designs at the next meeting through necessary documents as the Building Construction Act 1952 and Rules 1997 were not followed properly and the design was subject to amendment.
At the meeting, the President and Chairman hoped that the land owner would construct the building with the advice of the architects/engineers following the design of the approved building. The owners of the building will inform the authorities by letter 06 days before the commencement of the construction work of the building so that the layout of the building can be checked by the engineer as per the approved design.
If someone builds without the approval of the approved design, then the approved design will be canceled. He sincerely wishes everyone's cooperation. Committee members were present at the meeting.
