Due to the cyclone 'Mocha' created in the Bay of Bengal, the administration has temporarily banned the tourist services completely after showing the level 8 danger signal to the sea port of Cox's Bazar. Earlier, the administration stopped all services to discourage people from going down to the sea. Meanwhile, it has been reported that thousands of tourists left Cox's Bazar in the middle of the night due to the danger signal being shown to Cox's Bazar.
The Magistrate of Cox's Bazar Tourism Cell, Masum Billah, said that the sea is very rough due to the cyclone.
Due to this reason, tourist landing on Cox's Bazar beach has been declared completely prohibited from Saturday morning.
For this purpose, red flags will be hung at the 5 entrances of the beach. Besides, all beach services like jet ski, Para cycling, tire tube and other services have been stopped since Friday afternoon. This order will remain in force till further instructions.
Meanwhile, more than 1,000 tourists have left Cox's Bazar under the level 8 Danger Signal.
On Friday around 1 o'clock in the night, it is known that talking to the transport officials and some tourists, because they could not come to Cox's Bazar during the Eid holiday, many people came to visit Cox's Bazar on a 5-day holiday but had to leave Cox's Bazar due to the cyclone. Things could get worse so going back home.
Anika Dampeti, who came from Khulna, said that they came to Cox's Bazar on Thursday night to spend a three-day holiday. But after the announcement of the 8th alarm signal, I am going back to Dhaka at night due to fear.
Karim Ullah, the spokesperson of Hotel Motel Guest House said, Cox's Bazar can be said to be void of tourists from Saturday. One floor of the guest houses of Hotel Hotel Zone has been kept empty to provide shelter to people.
