Mayor of Cox’s Bazar Municipality Mujibur Rahman showed a rare example of humanity by distributing blankets among cold-hit, street and slum dwellers in Cox's Bazaar by braving cool wintry weather at night.

It is learnt, on Monday night, the Mayor himself came out of his house and distributed blankets among some 3,000 helpless people including at Cox's Bazar's central bus terminal and at the hotel-motel zones in Kolatali and various places of the town. Municipal councilors, officials and employees of the municipality accompanied the Mayor during the blanked distribution activity.

During blanked distribution activity, Mayor Mujib said, “A winter dress was like a weapon of a helpless, cold-hit man.” So considering the human plights during this winter, blankets are being distributed by the Muncipality among  the distressed people.

Mayor Mujib further said, being out on the street at night, he could see the utter misery and grief of the helpless, sick, distressed people. It was hard to believe that there were many needy people sleeping beside the street by wearing sacks in absence of any warm clothes. We should think about those people that what a terrible day they are going through.

However, you or I should come forward to help those unfortunate people by conveying a message of warmth for them. All we need is a pretty, honest mindset.

He was accompanied by Personal Assistant A.B Siddique Khokan and the Head of Media unit of the Municipality Ahsan Sumon.
