The overall coronavirus situation in Bangladesh continues to improve as the country has been seeing less Covid-19 infections over the last few days. The rate remains below 1.5 pc for days.
A total of 276 new cases of infection were recorded against 19,184 tests in 24 hours till 8am Tuesday to make the infection rate 1.44 percent. For the latest data, the total number of infected stands at 1,568,257.
At the same time, Bangladesh registered only six deaths and the total number of deaths has reached to 27,834 with the latest figure, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country and the overall positivity rate stands at 15.28 percent, added the release.
The six deceased include five men and a woman. Of the deceased, two each were from Chattogram and Khulna. Besides, one each was from Rajshahi and Sylhet.
Some 440 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,532,180 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.70 percent.
As of Tuesday 4,973,301 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 244,958,341 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
