Bangladesh registered nine more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Friday. The total number of deaths has reached to 27,746 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 396 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,564,881, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, added the release. The current positivity rate stands at 2.09 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 15.55 percent.
Among the nine deceased, four were men, and five were women. Six of the deceased were from Dhaka, two from Chattogram and one from Sylhet.
A total of 18,980 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday.
During this period 523 Covid-19 patients have recovered. A total of 1,526,891 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.57 percent.
As of Friday 4,899,770 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 240,507,418 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
