The country recorded 860 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,555,911, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.
The current positivity rate stands at 3.24 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 15.99 percent.
Bangladesh registered 23 more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Thursday. The total number of deaths has reached to 27,510 with the latest figure.

The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, added the release.
The positivity rate has been below five percent for the tenth day in a row. Covid-19 situation is considered under control if the infection rate remains below five percent for two consecutive weeks.
Among the 23 deceased, 11 were men, and 12 were women. Seven of the deceased were from Chattogram, six from Dhaka, four each from Sylhet and Mymensingh, and one each from Barisal and Rangpur.
A total of 26,569 samples were tested across the country till 8am Thursday.
During this period 979 Covid-19 patients have recovered. A total of 1,515,941 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.43 percent.

As of Thursday 4,790,731 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 234,191,883 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
