For the first time in two consecutive years, four district hospitals including Rangpur Corona Dedicated Hospital are now without patients in Rangpur. In addition, the corona detection rate in five of the eight districts of the division has also come down to zero.
However, the health department says that if the rate of infection increases, there will be no disruption in the treatment as the doctors and the concerned people are ready. But as the identification rate is low, a lot of relief has come back.
According to the concerned sources, in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, there were no corona patients in Rangpur Corona Dedicated Hospital, Nilphamari, Thakurgaon and Gaibandha Hospitals. Two corona patients are being treated at Panchagarh, one at Lalmonirhat, three at Kurigram and six at Dinajpur Hospital.
Besides, no corona patient has been identified in the last 24 hours in five districts of the division namely Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Kurigram and Gaibandha. At present only one corona patient has been identified in Rangpur, one in Lalmonirhat and two in Dinajpur. A total of 252 samples were tested in eight districts. The corona detection rate in the department is 1.59 percent.
From the beginning till now, samples of more than 3.38 lakh people have been examined and corona has been identified in the bodies of 64,099 people. 62,278 people have recovered. 1,283 people have died. According to the Rangpur Divisional Health Office, the rate of infection was highest in Rangpur Division at the beginning of the corona epidemic. And they were passing hard time to treat the infected patients. To control the situation, on 8 April 2020, the 100-bed Children's Hospital adjacent to Rangpur Sadar Hospital was dedicated as Corona Isolation Hospital. Corona patients are treated with 10 beds of ICU support and 60 beds for male patients and 30 beds for female patients. Adequate physicians, nurses and nanny-ward boys, including specialist doctors in ICU management, were appointed. Even after that, as there was no space for patients, only patients with corona were treated in a ward of Rangpur Medical College Hospital. In addition, corona patients are treated in other districts of the department with ICU facilities.
This is the first time in two years that Rangpur Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital has no Corona patients and Abu Md Zakirul Islam District Health confirmed the patient's condition on Wednesday. He also mentioned that there is zero infection rate in five districts of thedivision. He also said that there is no alternative to health awareness to bring down the detection rate to zero.
