Husband Ali Hossain Sardar 65 of Chaugachha upazila of Jashore district, died with corona symptoms then his wife Sufia Khatun also died with corona symptoms four days later on Friday.
The corona sample report came positive 4 days after the death of Ali Hossain. Ali Hossain is a resident of Mukundpur village in Sardar upazila.
Ali Hossain Sardar's son, village doctor Abdur Razzak, said his father died on July 13 in Jashore general Hospital with corona symptoms. On Thursday a SMS came to his mobile phone that his father was corona positive.
Ali Hossain's wife Sufia Khatun, 55, on Thursday afternoon received a positive report. However, she died on Friday morning.Lutfunnahar Health and Family Planning Officer of Chougachha Upazila confirmed the matter.
Ali Hossain Sardar's family members said he had fever for a week. He later recovered. But on July 11, he was taken to a private hospital in Chougachha with fever. He was then referred to Jashore general Hospital due to shortness of breath. He died on July 13 while being admitted to the isolation ward there.
After the death pf Sufia Khatun, no one from the village came to see her body. Family members, including son Abdur Razzak, was with the body all night.
Later on Friday afternoon, members of the voluntary blood donation organization 'Agrajatra' led by the Chaugachha municipal mayor visited the village. After bathing Sufia Khatun's body the members of 'Agrajatra' buried her in the family graveyard after Janaza.
