Country’s first jewellery expo from Mar 17

Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) is organizing a three-day long 'Bangladesh Jewellery Expo-2022' for the first time in the country on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence.

The expo will take place on March 17, 18 and 19 at halls no 1, 2 and 3 of International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital. This information was provided at a press conference organized by BAJUS on Wednesday.

It was informed at the press conference that all the countries of the world are working towards the recovery of the economy which was damaged due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At this time of the pandemic, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has continued its economic progress by applying unprecedented strategies and methods. In continuation of the progress, the expo has been organized under the direction of BAJUS President and Managing Director of Bashundhara Group Sayem Sobhan Anvir to play a helpful role in the development of the country.

It was further informed that the expo will be held on March 17-19 every day from 10 am to 8 pm at International Convention City Bashundhara. 

Hundreds of stalls and buyers and sellers from home and abroad will take part in it. The three-day expo is expected to attract more than two lakh visitors.

According to the organizers, the expo will enrich the domestic jewellery industry, meet the domestic demand and contribute to a strong position in the export of gold and gold products of Bangladesh. 

They also said that it would also enable to take the country's GDP rate to a satisfactory level. Through this, 180 million people of the country will be aware of the current state of the jewelery industry and its future prospects.

BAJUS leaders invited visitors and buyers to the jewellery expo to introduce the latest designs of jewellery made by the country's goldsmiths.

BAJUS Vice Presidents Gulzar Ahmed, Anwar Hossain and Aminul Islam Shahin, Assistant Secretary Narayan Chandra Dey and Treasurer Uttam Banik were present at the press conference.
