The overall coronavirus situation in the country has improved further as the daily death to and infection rate decreases further.
Bangladesh registered 25 more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Saturday. The total number of deaths has reached 27,393 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 818 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,550,371, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.
The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, added the release.
The current positivity rate stands at 4.59 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 16.15 percent.
Among the 25 deceased, 14 were men, and 11 were women. 11 of the deceased were from Dhaka, six from Chattogram, four from Khulna and two each were from Sylhet and Rangpur.
A total of 17,818 samples were tested across the country till 8am Saturday.
During this period 965 Covid-19 patients have recovered. Up until now, a total of 1,510,167 people have recovered from the virus and the recovery rate stands at 97.41 percent.
As of Saturday 4,753,170 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 231,990,471 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
