Responding to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and under the direction of Gopalganj-2 constituency MP Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, councillor of Ward no 1 of Gopalganj municipality and Director of Gopalganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md. Alimuzzaman Bitu announced to stand by 800 poor families of day labourers, disabled and unemployed in the district.
As part of this programme, on Monday, he went to the house of 400 poor people in ward no 1 taking food items including rice, flour and potatoes at his own financing. On next Friday, the rest of the poor families in the ward will also receive food items. He told the media that he would deliver the food items.
