BSEC Chairman Khondoker Rashed Maqsood on Tuesday expressed his hope that the ongoing reform activities of the current government good corporate governance will be established inthe corporate sector.
The BSEC Chairman was exchanging views with a delegation of Council Members of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB).
The ICSB delegation, led by its Senior Vice President, M Nurul Alam FCS, called on Chairman, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) at his office inSher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka on Tuesday.
Rashed Maqsood during the meeting assured the visiting ICSB Team about his comprehensive support for the Institute.
M Nurul Alam FCS asked for the representation of ICSB Members in the Securities Exchange Commission’s Advisory Committee and in the Board of Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange.
He also proposed, for listed companies, Company Secretary should only be a fully Qualified Chartered Secretary from ICSB.
He reiterated to include the BSS-5 and BSS-6 of ICSB on ‘Virtual and Hybrid Meeting’ and ‘Resolution by Circulation’ in the Corporate Governance Code. He also requested to introduce the Secretarial Audit in the listed companies of Bangladesh.
The Council Members thanked the BSEC Chairmanfor allocatinghis valuable time and hoped that his continued support and guidance will help the Institute to move forward in achieving its objectives.
