The number of corona attacks in Chattogram has gradually decreased for the third consecutive day.
A total of 118 people were detected positive for Covid-19 in Chattogram after testing 2,705 samples at 16 Covid-19 laboratories during the last 24 hours while 119 were detected on Thursday and 165 people were detected on Wednesday.
According to the report from the labs, 118 people were detected positive for the deadly virus after testing 2,705 samples during the period, said Dr Ilias Chowdhury, civil surgeon of Chattogram district. The infection rate of the lethal virus in the district reached 4.36 percent till this morning. Among the newly detected patients, 84 are from Chattogram city and 34 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said. With the new infected people, the total Covid-19 patients rose to 1,25,904 in Chattogram.
Among them, 91,549 are the residents of the port city and the rest 34,255 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district.
The number of healed patients rose to 1,09,587 with the recovery of 502 more people during the time while the average recovery rate currently stands at 87.91 percent.
With no more new deaths, the fatality toll steady at 1,362 during the past 24 hours.
A total of 1,291 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here, the sources added.
