Police recovered the body of a construction worker from charland (shoal) of the river Padma from Dewanpara area under Matikata union of Godabari upazila in Rajshahi on Monday morning. The victim has identified as Rafiqul islam, 30, son of Fazlur Rahman of village Kodalkathi under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.
Khairul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Godagari Police station informed, finding a dead body lying on the charland of the river Padma, local people called on 999 when police arrived at the scene, recovered the dead body and sent it to the morgue of RMCH for autopsy.
OC further informed, blood was spilling through the right eye and there were marks of injuries on the chest of the victim. However, police were not sure how the victim died. The measure was underway to file a case in this connection, he added.
