The construction work of 13 buffer godowns for storage of fertiliser in 13 districts is going on in the full swing including one in Kishoreganj district.
According to sources, those godowns were being constructed under the supervision of Sena Kalyan Sangstha and the Tiufique Engineering, a project of BCIC under the Ministry of Industries.
Each buffer godown is being constructed on around 4.00 acres of land with a capacity of storing of 10,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser.
Some farmers of Kishoregnaj informed, the buffer godown of fertiliser will save the farmers from shortages of supply of fertiliser in the region.
Sarwar Murshed Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner of Kishoreganj, said that the completion of work of the construction of 13 buffer godowns in 13 districts are supposed to be completed in 18-months. There will be no shortages of fertiliser in the district following the completion of the buffer godown, he added.
