A press conference was held for protest conspiratorial, fabricated and false news against prominent fertilizer trader and president of Bangladesh Fertilizer Association and Chamber of Commerce in Narail Mohammad Hasanuzzaman. The press conference was held on Sunday at business office in Rupganj of the district town .
Speaking at a press conference, Mohammad Hasanuzzaman said there has been no fertilizer crisis in the agriculturally prosperous in the district for the past few years. Fertilizer dealers and sub-dealers in the district have been selling fertilizers to farmers at fair prices for various crops, including the Irri-Boro season, in compliance with government regulations. No farmer has to be harassed to get fertilizer. Due to timely supply of fertilizer, the production of Irri-Boro paddy in the district is more than the demand. Other agricultural crops also have bumper yields. Some selfish people have been spreading conspiratorial, fabricated and false news to tarnish the image of me.
He further said that a man named Ali Mia of Uzirpur in the municipal area came to my fertilizer business shop on College Road in Rupganj Bazar on February 17 and first asked for a bag of MOP (Potash) fertilizer. Hiraman Adhikari, the manager of my fertilizer business centre, after selling one bag of fertilizer to him at the price fixed by the government, the man came after some time and asked for another bag of MOP (potash) fertilizer. Then my manager secretly found out that the man had been delivering fertilizer to sub-dealers in his van and had been selling fertilizer to farmers at high prices for some time in the hope of making extra profit. When manager Hiramon expressed his inability to give him fertilizer, Ali Mia verbally abused the manager and tried to break the table.
After the incident, Hiramon and Ali Mia came in my office, and resolved the matter amicably. In order to divert this incident, some selfish people, spread conspiratorial, fabricated and false news to tarnish the image of me including fertilizer traders, which is completely baseless. Bangladesh Fertilizer Association District Branch General Secretary Md. Ayub Khan Bulu, Treasurer Md. Hafizur Rahman, Joint-Secretary Md. Habibullah Bahar were present at the press conference.
