Concluding parade of 554 young sailors of Navy held

The concluding parade of 554 young sailors of A / 2022 batch of Bangladesh Navy was held at Banauja Titumir Parade Ground on Thursday. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal was present as the chief guest on the occasion. He later distributed prizes among the young sailors. It may be mentioned that there are 25 female sailors in that batch.

Among the young sailors of the A / 2022 batch of the Navy, Faisal Mahmud received the 'Naval Chief Medal' as the best professional and all-round sailor in all matters. Md Raisul Islam Asad won the second place with 'Kamkhul Padak' and Abid Hasan Fahad won the third place with 'Titumir Padak'. Among the female sailors, Chandni Begum won the first place in all subjects and received the "Pritilata Waddedar Padak".

In his address to the young sailors, the Chief of Naval Staff paid homage to the outstanding contribution of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Architect of Independence and Father of the Nation. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude for the supreme sacrifices of the heroic navy and freedom fighters who participated in the freedom struggle. He said the Bangladesh Navy has already been well-established as a three-dimensional and up-to-date navy with the solemn desire and patronage of the Prime Minister of the present government. He directed the young sailors to work for the country together with high morale and courage to continue this trend of development of the Navy and to face the challenges of the future. In his speech, he called upon the people to use the knowledge acquired from the Navin Sailor Training School at the naval base Titumir to build themselves as qualified sailors and to use this training in their future careers to fulfill their responsibilities towards national security and progress. He thanked the young sailors for choosing the sacred responsibility of serving the country and building the country as their profession. At the same time, he advised them to engage themselves in the defense of the country's sovereignty, inspired by the spirit of liberation war, patriotism and the ideals of independence.

The parade was attended by, among others, Assistant Chief of Staff (Personnel), Khulna Naval Commander Alik Commander, senior military and civilian officials and guardians of the young sailors.
