Distribution of computer and driving training certificates among backward trainees in Chuadanga was inaugurated at Bohumikhi Manab Kalyan Samity located at Academy Vidyalaya intersection in Chuadanga town on Saturday.
Member of Parliament of Magura-1 Saifuzzaman Shikhar inaugurated the certificate distribution by participating in the video conference.
The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University Sheikh Abdus Salam. Ahmed Peepul, executive chairman of Bohumukhi Manab Kalyan Samity, spoke as a special guest on the occasion.
Former Principal of Chuadanga Government College Siddiqur Rahman, General Secretary of Chuadanga Press Club Rajib Hasan Kochi, President of Bangladesh Journalist Association, Chuadanga District Unit Nazmul Haque Swapan, Journalist Shah Alam Soni and others were present.
Speakers said that the goal of the Prime Minister is to bring backward people into the mainstream. The current government is working towards that goal. Due to this, the backward population is being made proficient with computer and driving training. So that they can stand on their own feet. Journalist Bipul Ashraf, executive director of the organization delivered welcome address.
The project- "Improvement of social welfare through training of destitute, widows, abandoned and destitute population" is being implemented by Directorate of Social Welfare Department and Bohumikhi Manab Kalyan Samity. Under this project over 2,800 persons in computers and 2,100 people in driving training have already been given in 5 districts.
