A college girl on Monday, was suffocated to death when her scarf got entangled with a wheel of a battery run auto rickshaw at Bazar bus stand area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital.
Duty officer of Savar model police station confirmed the matter, although they could not provide any further info regarding the incident initially.
The deceased was identified as Fatema Akhter Dina, 18, hailed from Moshuri Khola area under Vakurta union in Savar, and she was a student of capital's Agriculture Training Institute, according to an Identity card found with the body. Locals said the incident took place around 12:30 pm on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Bazar bus stand area in Savar. “Dina fell down from the rickshaw, while her scarf got entangled with a wheel of that rickshaw, and became unconscious”, adding that duty doctor of Enam medical college hospital later declared her dead after being taken there.
Duty officer of Savar model police station said, on information a police team lead by SI JAhidul Islam, rushed to the hospital, and preparation to take legal action in this regard was in underway.
