A college student named Mim Akhter committed suicide by hanging herself with her parents as she did not buy a scooter in Dwigraj area of Mongla in Bagerhat.
On Saturday afternoon, Mim strangled himself from the ceiling of her house. He was later rescued by locals and taken to Jhanjhania Health Complex in Rampal, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead. Mim is a 2nd year student of Khulna Polytechnic College and she is the daughter of Mikail Hossain of Dvigraj area.
According to the police and relatives, Mim Akhter (20) lived with her family. He had been begging her mother to buy him a scooter for several days. But Mim committed suicide by wrapping a blanket around her house on Saturday afternoon, as his parents did not buy the scooter. Meanwhile, when the girl could not be seen anywhere, the mother went to the front of her room and saw her hanging with a rope.
At that time, the locals rushed to his mother's rescue and rushed him to the Jhanjhania Health Complex in Rampal Upazila. The doctor on duty declared him dead.
Rampal police officer in charge (OC, investigation) said. Nazrul Islam said an unnatural death case has been registered at Rampal police station.
