Allegations have been made of extracting ransom by threatening to leak classmates stripped video on social media after a 19-year-old college student along with her classmate was hold-up in Noakhali.
The victim filed a case against three people with Sudharam police station on Saturday afternoon. However, the police have not yet been able to arrest any of the accused.
The student complained that her classmate Arif came to visit her with notes regarding studies on Thursday evening. Her parents were not home at the time and her younger brother went to the mosque to say his prayers.
She was talking to her friend standing at the door of her house. Suddenly Akbar, Raihan and Pulak Majumdar of the same area came and surrounded them. They detained the two in a room inside the house, stripped Arif at gunpoint, and took photos and videos of them together. They tore the student's clothes and tried to undress her as well. They also pressured her to do immoral things with them. They extorted Tk 10,000 by threatening them to spread their video on Facebook. At one point, they became compelled to leave as the locals started coming to their house hearing their scream. They threatened to leak their photos and videos while leaving.
OC of Sudharam police station Mohammad Shahed Uddin said that the student filed a case in this regard. Police are trying to arrest the accused.
