Dhaka University hosted a significant international seminar exploring the experiences of development and governance of China and Bangladesh on March 25.
The event, titled "Development and Governance Experiences in China and Bangladesh," took place at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Dhaka University campus.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Yao Wen addressed the audience as a special guest with DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal in the chair. The seminar was jointly organised by the Centre for China Studies of Dhaka University and the Centre for China Studies of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies.
In the opening session, key-note speeches were delivered by eminent personalities, including the President of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), Prof Dr. Chen Dongxiao, and representatives from UNESCO, FAO, and UNDP.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal emphasized the importance of collaborative academic and research endeavors in addressing societal challenges and fostering global peace.
He highlighted the role of the Center for China Studies at Dhaka University in facilitating dialogue and knowledge exchange between the two nations.
Ringing these sentiments, Chinese Ambassador Mr. Yao Wen underscored the mutual efforts of China and Bangladesh in bolstering social stability and socioeconomic development. He pledged continued support and cooperation from the Chinese Embassy in fostering educational and research ties between the two friendly nations.
The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment to furthering cooperation and understanding between China and Bangladesh for mutual progress and prosperity.
